The Don’t Knows know

“The best way to describe our show in one word would be happiness!”

Hastings based new indie popsters, The Don’t Knows purvey catchy melodies. These have already got them slots at some cool events around the country.

TheZineUK wondered if they had performed these songs to an audience in this part of the capital.

TDK : “I’m pretty sure we’ve never bought our live show to New Cross before this gig at The Amersham Arms, however we’ve hit Camden a few times recently and Soho once or twice also.”

TheZineUK : “Hope you enjoy South East London. How would you sum up the live set that you’re bringing to The Deptford Mix Up?”

TDK : “The best way to describe our show in one word would be happiness! We really enjoy what we’re doing and it always comes across that way. The music also follows that same theme! We’re a happy, summer time indie band and we don’t take ourselves too seriously!”

We think that The Don’t Knows are gonna love the vibes in that back room bar, then. It’s a great year for good times… How has it been treating this band?

TDK: “2019 so far has been pretty class! We’ve hit London a few times and took part in a great weekend called The Brighton Mix Up! We’ve also been involved in some great gigs supporting Alibi and Kid Kapichi locally, as well as hitting a thousand likes on Facebook!

Coming up over the next few months we’ve got our first headline show in our hometown since last Christmas so that should be mental! We’re also doing a few shows with This Feeling and supporting Mallory Knox in Hastings in September.”

TheZineUK: “These underground rock n roll scenes feel like they’re on the up, to us. Do you feel any kind of buzz?”

TDK: “Definitely! There’s so many great up and coming bands about, all playing in grassroots venues again. You can definitely feel it in the cities! London especially! We’re trying to ride this wave and gain us much experience as possible before releasing early next year when guitar music will hopefully be well and truly back!”

The Don’t Knows sound like sunshine. Their future looks bright.
