The Rocking Forecast: 1

This week is another busy one for us #Zeenagers… There are of course too many adventures to list, but our recommended highlights this week are:

Tonight, the gorgeously talented Gabi Garbutt and The Illuminations have their album launch for the intriguingly named ‘The Discredited Language of Angels’ at The Slaughtered Lamb. Gabi always gives an electrical performance, like a London Patti Smith only with shampooed hair. To top it off, the album itself is produced by #Zeenage legend Sean Read. Tickets are £8.50 (+85p Booking fee) in advance from WeGotTickets or £10 otd. Info here:

Thursday sees This Feeling and Pirate Studios teaming up to Present their #PirateProdigies – Starring the Elly Bailey recommended Spilt Milk Society, Crystal, Peeping Drexels at The Water Rats. You can get FREE ENTRY tickets at This Feeling. Now That’s What I call a BARGAIN.

Friday is a headrush for us #Zeenagers with Feral Five releasing the sexy as hell tune, EGO (you lucky buggers can already listen to it here). You’ll have it on rotation on your playlist by the weekend. Guaranteeeeeed. Velvet Hands also release This Feeling. It’s 70’s Rock n Roll made for the 21st Century. Fast guitars, beautifully ragged harmonies and everything we’ve come to love from the boys. Werkhouse is LIVE and curated by the almost annoyingly amazing Sahera Walker with Strange Cages, GURU, The Howlers & Scary Lemons. If you’re unfamiliar, (eh?!), You’ll no doubt find a bunch of us grooving there at 85 Brick Lane. Tickets are less than a pint and can be ordered on SeeTickets. For our mates up Norf, there’s probably a no better place to be than the now legendary Jimmy’s this Friday, where Modern Age Music Present our faves SONS, Callow Youth, The Battery Farm + more. Tickets are only a fiver in advance from Skiddle

On Saturday, our very own Monefa Walker shows just how multitalented she is, along with friends at Highgate Reformed Church for Musicians Against Homelessness. Not only will you get a range of classical to contemporary pieces to wet your whistle, but Monefa has also invited the delectable Louise Scholfield along to compère. It’s going to be such a treat. Tickets are £10 otd., and all proceeds go to Musicians Against Homelessness. Info:

If you fancy popping up the road, there is also the Camden Rocks All-Dayer with Nina Courson’s Healthy Junkies leading the carnage. They offer up new wave, punk and grunge in a glam package. Tickets are £10 in adv. on Seetickets

ON Sunday we will probably want be crawling back to our pits to recover, with the only thing that can entice us out being Benumu’s Sunday Session at the Camden Assembly. Not only will you find #Zeenage legends Bugeye (it’s disco-punk baby!), alongside #Onestowatch The Gulps, TDK, The Kaizans and Paul Lynch but Doc Martens are giving away a pair of 1460s.  You’ll find us doing our best Alexei Sayle if they find a way to us…
